North Ft Bend County Residents: Let’s demand the return of our tranquility and preserve our home values. Since The City of Sugar Land acquired the former prison land and converted to a gun range, gunshots can be heard during all hours of the day and night. Let’s unite and make our voices heard to preserve our communities and the peace and tranquility that once enticed us to invest in our homes!
The leadership in Sugar Land is still hiding behind silence while our neighborhoods remain under constant fire. I am gathering documentation on every acoustic disturbance to present these facts directly to the bureaucrats who refuse to acknowledge our reality.

The Sugar Land officials ignored us for months but this surge of momentum proves they can no longer pretend we do not exist. We are dragging our demand for peace into the public eye and they will finally have to answer for the noise destroying our neighborhoods.

The noise can be extremely annoying when outdoors. Our subdivision bans fireworks and gunfire for the same reason and the shooting range is as closer than some parts of the neighborhood.

It definitely sounds like we are near a war zone. It is not comfortable at all or feels safe

I’d like to propose the following solutions that enable the gun range to stay while reducing noise for surrounding neighborhoods.
1. Construct a building that houses the gun range
2. Add sound proofing materials that surround the gun range. There are many effective products that other outdoor gun ranges use.

The serenity of our neighborhood is being disrupted due to extensive gunfire coming from the SL shooting range behind OLE. Please find a way to buffer this noise. We support the police and their training but they also need to respect that the loud gunshots disrupt our early morning and evening quiet. As an public servant you wouldn’t want this noise at your home. We just need a buffer!

This "temporary" gun range has been a nuisance for 2 1/2 years; well beyond its suggested life span. It is disturbing the very peace the officers are sworn to protect. Silence it, or move it, please.

I am shocked that the county would think an outdoor range so close to a neighborhood is appropriate.
