No Rezoning or Variances for MSK at 1233 York Ave (bet 66th & 67th St) NYC

We the residents, students and workers of the Upper East Side of Manhattan and other concerned citizens feel that any rezoning or variances to accommodate Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) constructing what would be
the TALLEST HOSPITAL IN THE WORLD (594'),
in a densely populated residential neighborhood,
with serious traffic and parking issues,
on a fragile power grid,
on a block with a public elementary school and 60' apartment buildings
would be gravely irresponsible on the part of any city or state official, elected, appointed or otherwise.

AND the City Planning Commission, Department of Transportation, Deptartment of Education, Department of Environmental Protection
to reject any and all rezoning, variances and changes of footprint at 431-435 66th St., 432-436 67th St., and 1231-1241 York Ave. NY, NY 10065.
This proposed tower runs counter to everything City of Yes for Carbon Neutrality is trying to accomplish. Once built, it can't be undone.
All we are asking for is balance and quality of life for all on the UES.

I have spent the week drafting letters to Julie Menin and the rest of the City Council members to demand they halt this project. Call their offices today and tell them we reject the proposed tower at 1233 York Avenue. Do not let them think this is a done deal.

The hospital has never given anything back to the neighborhood... how about a park or bench? They even took the neighborhood zip code! The hospital is partially publicly funded, yet they do not allow people in to enjoy their grounds. But hospital workers feel free to eat & smoke in my courtyard , on my stoop and my block.
I live at 1221 York directly across from the proposed build. This is a deeply rooted residential area that is under constant peril from the sprawl of the area hospitals. The excessiveness of this proposal is unprecedented and must be curtailed.
I am a senior citizen living in this neighborhood for at least 50 years. I am opposed to any and all rezoning and variance requests on this site. I am concerned about air/light/traffic and how this will impact the quality of life for myself as well as my neighborhood community. I say no to this super tall structure.
Our neighborhood’s transportation system and infrastructure is already strained serving patients, and the loss of a 300+ unit apartment building to build the largest hospital in the world in a residential neighborhood is a bad idea considering the current rent, housing, and climate crisis.
NO, do not build a building of this scale intruding upon a residential side street with a school and church on it. Our neighborhood is already starved of sunlight and open space and a building of this scale would further reduce quality of life for the 5 story homes it would loom over.
The residents who live in this neighborhood have not been adequately informed about the risks to the community as posed by this proposed MSK application. The environmental impacts have not been duly assessed as it greatly impacts an elementary school that is right smack in the middle of this proposed development. The concerns of the school community and parents with regards to the welfare have largely been ignored by the city and this application by MSK appears to be timed in a way that is intended to bypass community engagement and input.
Unacceptable.

This is hubris! if your patients are healthy enough to appreciate the view they are too healthy to be in a hospital. As some one who worked in hospitals for 50 years this would be a nightmare to evacuate in a disaster
