I'm constantly meeting people from Chicago and, when asked, I want to say I went to South Shore High School

Leave the school name alone. Everyone know , South Shore , any other name would not represent that schools history. Thanks

I strongly oppose changing the name of South Shore High School. I didn't like it when South Shore park was renamed to Rosenblum park. Bryn Mawr elementary (in South Shore) was renamed to ...somebody whose name I can't recall right now. When the local institutions are renamed a certain amount of identification with, and care for, the community is lost. This infatuation with renaming schools is short-sighted and ignores the needs of the community. I'm guessing that those who favor the name change did not attend South Shore High School. This is an attempt to celebrate an individual at the expense of a community. NO!
