The name change is not going to make it better. More money better teacher's year round terms up to date books.

The name of our school should not change. There are many ways to honor a person inside the building. I have taken many people by where we spent our youth and we're educated with pride and the name should stay the same.

while Rev. Willie T Barrow is a GREAT iconic civil rights leader the school should be named for our GREAT community!!! Perhaps the auditoriums, laboratories or other public spaces inside the school can be named for MANY of our civil rights GREATS???

Why the name change? If changing the name of the school will stop suffering in the community, stop racism and discrimination then change the name if not JUST L EAVE IT ALONE..

I graduated from South Shore Community Academy in 1990. South Shore High School has been part of the community for decades and it's a name that we can trust and that we're familiar with. I have met some great people at SSHS that has been a part of my life since 1986. I've even had the pleasure of coaching their wrestling team once I graduated before going off to colllege. It felt good to be able to mentor as well as see classmates I graduated with as teach. South Shore is my family and I don't want to see my family torn apart. The same should stay the same.

I grew up in South Shore; went to SSHS and see the HS as a monument in the area. I am still grieving the name change for my grammar school. The same school Michelle Obama went to, Bryn Mawr! Do not destroy the dchool"s rich history. Blue and Green.

I am proud to be a 1968'graduate oh SSHS. It was an amazing place with excellent teachers and a dynamite curriculum. Don't take away our history and heritage. Enough with all the name changes.

I am not in support of the name change! Ms Barrows was trailblazer and powerhouse but was she an alumni it doesn't mention this article? I think they will come up with anotha way to honor her.
