I am doing this to stand in solidarity with my classmates. School names change often and Wille T. Is a pillar of support for her involvement in the civil rights movement. Yet, this is a stamp in our community and I would say that we who are not active in the school should join the association to do more. I gave two scholarships in the early 90's to two graduates and then dropped the ball. We can rise up and be different and help our babies get to college. SOUTH SHORE HIGH SCHOOL has a legacy in the South Shore community and in the lives of all who were shaped and molded by spending four of their most impresssionable teen years growing up there. What is wrong with the name of our school? It is indigenous to the community and therefore inextricably attached to it. OR is that the problem? Or is it that the school will seemingly be more valued by the current community residents if it is named after Rev. Barrow? How can tradition and legacy be passed on if it keeps being obliterated? Did Rev. Barrow attend South Shore? Probably not! Let her school, her church, or her block be named after her. Leave our school alone! As a proud grad of the Class of 1973, I oppose the name change.

South Shore High School has been a great school! Like many schools we've had our ups and down. Now they've rebuilt the school it can be even better. The name has been around for years. Why change history. Keep our name! It represent the Shore Shore Area! No to the changing of the name.

Why would you change a landmark name of the community. Why would a name change be necessary. Will just change the name of the city because of the bad publicity it is getting. You see it doesn't make sense. Change the situation not the name. Thank you.
