As a proud graduate of SSHS (January, 1964), I am strongly opposed to changing the name of my alma mater. History and tradition rule!

Please keep the name south shore high school as is. That would be very nice. Don't give it the name of someone that most of us do not know. Thank you.

I am currently a student enrolled here at South Shore International College Prep and I really like the name of my school. I want the name to stay the same.

She wasn't even born in Chicago, nor did she go to SSHS. The school is the name of the neighborhood. If you are going to change this name is Hyde Park H.S. next?

This great Chicago high school on the south shore of Lake Michigan should retain its name: South Shore High School.

The names"South Shore High School"and "South Shore International College Prep" are prestigious and carry a positive brand. Moreover they reflect the name of the vibrant neighborhood in which the school is situated.

Always a rush to destroy tradition and true history for the quick, popular, soul pleasing ,but not long lasting name change. I VOTE NO to this proposed name change

Preserve the history and name of South Shore. There must be another place or program to name in honor of Willie T Barrow, and that would be an appropriate alternative to renaming South Shore!

If this is a test here are the answers:
1) DNA discovery - James Watson
2) Founder of Oracle - Larry Ellison
3) AFC coach - Marv Levy
