The Bunya Mountains area in South East Queensland is under threat of yet another intensive farming development (cattle feedlot). The area cannot sustain the heavy water usage from these types of industries. The roads within the Maidenwell area are not suitable or safe for the heavy vehicles. With the applicant living in Wamuran - this means that their will be an increase in heavy traffic through Maidenwell/Nanango/Yarraman/Blackbutt due to waste being removed from the feedlot. grain being brought in and cattle movements. This will be the 3rd feedlot to be situated in the foothills of the Bunya Mountains near Maidenwell - residents do not want it here! The problems from the existing feedlots will only be amplified by yet another development. This development is to be situated along Barkers Creek which flows through the entire South Burnett Shire and ends up in Bjelke-Petersen Dam.
