This petition is in favor of removing GER1000 as a compulsory module in the NUS syllabus due to the following reasons:
- Waste of money (Printing the poster)
- Confusing (Most are confused by the syllabus or even those who understand find the phrasing to be off-putting)
- Commands Great Effort with Little Reward (Project requires a great deal of attention but reaps little reward)
- Difficult to learn proper concepts (Concepts are not well framed; trying to teach statistics with minimal maths is perplexing)
- Waste of MCs (There are better uses for Modular Credits due to the aforementioned reasons)

If the module cannot be removed, please make changes to it. Eg. Have more regular tutorial sessions, not once every 2 weeks. One tutorial every two weeks makes learning extremely disjointed.
What is the purpose of such module in the 21st century?

A waste of time. Why make compulsory a module when students could instead enjoy learning knowledge in topics they like, thereby allowing their education to become broader and well-balanced? Ger instead confuses, frustrates and wastes time, with no knowledge gained after the module is completed.
