NO JAIL IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD The City of Seattle is considering four possible sites for a Municipal Jail facility. TWO of the four sites are in Highland Park and White Center. The City has not considered the proximity to schools, playfields, parks, and residential neighborhoods. These proposed sites are not acceptable locations for the following reasons: - Safety concerns - Environmental damage - Social justice issues - Community identity - Traffic problems - Zoning issues We, the signers of this petition, call upon the city government to END CONSIDERATION OF A NEW JAIL FACILITY at the two sites located at 9501 Meyers Way S. and at the corner of Highland Park Way SW and West Marginal Way.
