I spent the morning talking to firefighters who are rightfully terrified about how these cuts will impact our response times. They tell me that every second truly governs life or death when someone is trapped in a burning building. We are meeting with city officials soon to demand they look at the real data instead of just the budget lines.

Seeing this momentum grow brings me right back to the night my brother was rescued from that apartment fire. Knowing our community refuses to let these essential lifelines disappear gives me hope that we can actually stop this plan.

My house is 5 minutes from this firehouse. If you close it and there is a fire im terrified of how long it will take for real help to arrive.

Ridiculous decision. Mayor is clearly just trying to balance a budget on the backs of our safety.

This is reckless. Our neighborhood has seen so many fires lately and we need these guys close by at all times.
