Say "NO" to Fairfax County Park Fees for Residents! Fairfax County is proposing to charge residents to drive into the following parks: Burke Lake, Lake Accotink, and Lake Fairfax. Horses, bicycles, and pedestrians will still be free. This is unfair to residents who do not live within walking distance to the park, especially in this economic time. It would not only cause long lines to enter the parks, but those of us who know the back roads of Fairfax County will be parking in the surrounding neighborhoods and walking in on the trails that connect to the parks. I am sure those neighborhoods would be furious to know that on the weekends in the summers their streets would be lined with cars. This would cause the need for more attendants at the entrances and extra security in neighborhoods such as South Run and Kings Park. Please tell the Fairfax County Park Authority that you are against this increase by signing this petition and forwarding it to your family and friends.
