The Anoka County Board of Commissioners is heavily promoting the construction of a new Vikings Stadium in a development called \"The Preserve at Rice Creek\", slated to be built on Lexington Avenue just north of Interstate 35W. Under the current plan being pushed hard by the County, the new stadium would cost $650 million. Minnesota and Anoka County Taxpayers would bear the burden of at least 2/3 of the construction cost. The plan so far does not mention how to pay for site preparation, road and utility improvements or extra fire, police and jail space. We the undersigned Minnesota citizen/taxpayers believe that any team owner(s) should pay for their own stadium. We demand that there be no taxpayer money spent on a Vikings stadium in Anoka County. We also demand that there be a vote held for any proposed tax increases levied to pay for a stadium.

The purpose of Taxpayers Against an Anoka County Vikings Stadium is to inform Anoka County Taxpayers about the impact of constructing a stadium for the Vikings in Anoka County. With this information we hope we can influence taxpayers to oppose the building of the stadium through the use of taxpayer money, and to have them become involved in the political process to stop its construction. http://www.noanokastadiumtax.com
