We believe that if a new hotel is needed, the private sector will build it. If it isn't a profitable venture, they won't. This proposal flies in the face of common sense, and violates the free market system by favoring one business over another.
We further demand that all projects exceeding the $10 million City Charter requirement be placed on a public referendum as provided by law. Circumventing Beach taxpayers by issuing debt through the economic development authority is unethical, and insults citizens who are responsible for the debt.

Why is my tax money going to a hotel?? Fix the roads instead. So tired of the city wasting cash.
Keep your hands out of my pocket. Private business means private money.
Enough with the corporate handouts. If they want a fancy hotel let them pay for it themselves like everyone else.
This is just wrong. They are trying to sneak this debt past us by avoiding a vote. Stop it now.
