I spent the entire morning walking the fields that are marked for the relief road and the absolute silence of the woods is exactly what we are fighting to preserve. My inbox is full of messages from neighbors who feel the same deep ache about losing this landscape forever.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels surreal because I grew up playing in those woods and it breaks my heart to think they might disappear. This outpouring of support proves that I am not the only one who refuses to let our local countryside be paved over for a road we do not need.

As a local resident I am against this. There is enough decent road around this area to use without disrupting the wildlife around here - this morning I was feeding the deer right next to where this road is proposed. what will happen to them? Please abandon this project and focus on the wildlife and park areas, so much more important than getting in and out of town quicker!

Local residents have not had a say, the council proposed this road before homes were built. Now they propose an A road with just a wire fence between a place where children play and nature live. No ned when drivers can use the ring road A38 or A3259 closing Bridgwater of for the primary schl. This way both schls benefit safer roads and environment. Health implications is another damaging factor.

Such beautiful wildlife here. Why start building a new road when the Northern Link road remains unfinished. Will this new road be abandoned because no one can decide who is paying for the overspend.

At the moment I feel safe with my daughter playing outside this would change with a main road being built on my doorstep. There are also deer and other wildlife here which homes would be destroyed. It is currently such a gorgeous place to live which will be ruined if this road goes ahead!

On Developer's plan the road was only 'proposed'. If it goes ahead it will probably become a 'rat-run' to the motorway and there will probably be a long tail-back causing a concentration of vehicle emissions next to children's playground. It may also be a danger to precious wildlife and subsequent danger to drivers.

Deer, habitation, rare animals and local families do not need a busy road built in front of houses that were bought under the impression that the road was not going to be an A road and we weren't told about the bridge.

So much wildlife will be damaged if this road is allowed
