The West Dulwich Lloyds branch in Croxted Road is planning to close later this year.

The closure was announced without any consultation with local residents, businesses or Lloyds customers. The nearest Lloyds bank, in East Dulwich, has no direct public transport route and has very limited parking.

The proposed closure will have a profoundly negative impact for both local residents and businesses that rely on the availability of financial services. Local businesses in Croxted Road, Rosendale Road and Park Hall Road use the cash point facility for commercial operations.

Many local residents are elderly and less mobile and may not have access to the internet to undertake online banking. They rely on the Croxted Road Lloyds branch and have built up a close relationship with the staff.

We believe the proposed closure will have a negative impact in the area and call on Lloyds to keep the Croxted Road branch open.

The feedback from local business owners has been eye-opening. We are compiling these stories to present directly to the bank management.

This is the branch where I opened my first account -it is a vital part of a large community and I am shocked that plans to close it have been made without any consultation locally. This branch should stay open!

Our school has just opened a new bank account with Lloyds. Not having access to local banking makes it much harder to bank our dinners and fees. By closing this branch there is a huge knock on effect and I would strongly urge a rethink.

We use this branch as a charity and would add to our stress paying in donations to travel much further sometimes with lots of coins which are heavy if you cannot park locally. More importantly many of our clients struggle to access banks now so when there are even fewer and greater distances to travel they have no hope of getting to one. Local branches for local people.

The closure of this branch would cause many problems for local residents and shops, particularly as the Herne Hill branch has already been closed. Madness to do at a time when a major development nearing completion opposite the bank with a health centre and retail units will increase the already heavy footfall at Park Hall.

Much the same as everyone else, this will affect my ability to do my banking easily, quickly and without transport. I will be forced to drive to East Dulwich due to insufficient public transport, putting another car on the road.

I find this near-sighted. There are no banks now in Crystal Palace. There are no banks in Herne Hill. There is only one bank in West Norwood. If you do not drive East Dulwich is difficult to get to. If you must close, keep the ATM. I urge you to reconsider.
