Was not the sales tax increase Indianola voted on in 2016 to be used to ease our property tax burden? Were not our assessed property values readjusted upwards 2 years ago? Same old, same old. Pay now & we will not tax U more later. YOU BET! Welcome to Indianola & Bend Over!

Taxes are to high now, and several people I know have been talking about moving. Moving to a place that has more to offer for the same amount of taxes paid per dollar.

Our property values skyrocketed and are already being taxed on that. Higher taxes would be like you greedily raised the values so you could get more revenue. You have a surplus on the books already. If they would spend intelligently there would be enough without raising taxes.

Hell no. We don't want to be like Ankeny, Waukee ect. Keep our Government small. Where has all the money from the 5% surcharge on everyones gas bill for repaving streets went? Have not seen a whole street repaved since. Also it is not evenly being applied.

How is it fair to raise the property tax for us residents when people are getting laid off and not seeing any improve ya to the infrastructure and the equipment the city employees use. Your plow trucks are from the late 80’s /early 90’s. Maybe look into updating some stuff to save money like using salt instead of sand and get better trucks maybe with wing plows on them to cut down the time it takes to plow the streets. Then with the non use of sand the street sweepers would last longer and do a better job. Just a thought from a citizen that knows a lot about that kind of atuff

Dear Lord! Show us what can be done with all we have paid in so far. Our town looks "spent". I personally have to weigh the cost of our taxes and what we receive as a citizen of Indianola.

Now is not the time to increase property taxes and they do not need to be increased. Why not give an exemption to raises to people over the age of 65? We are on fixed incomes!
Taxes to high
I am not in favor of our taxes being raised..
