Students can't cognitively stay focused in high heat with no air circulation. The risk of dehydration is extremely high and places students at high risk of medical complications.
Be consistent. If you won't allow us to go to school on a 90 degree day, then don't allow us to go to school on a 93+ degree day. I'm not bothered by the fact that I have to go to school, I'm bothered by the blatant inconsistency of the district.
It says if you find TWO sources that predict it will be 95 degrees or higher, its ILLEGAL to still have school in session. I have found MORE then TWO sources.
It seems to me that that the forecast for tomorrow falls well within the limits outlined in the Superintendent’s Heat Day Release document. With the additional information in this petition, it is imperative that our kids and teachers not be required to be in session during such high heat conditions.
i do not feel safe sending my children to such a hot place where they will not even be able to learn as they are dying of heat in the un-airconditioned classes.

I’m a teacher at Coronado high and several teachers including myself believe students should not attend school tomorrow, from experience I know that students have a very hard time concentrating in the heat
