No school on the unsuitable Sutton Hospital council plot please!

I oppose the building of a new school due to site too small, high buildings spoiling the Belmont landscape and also the Rosehill site is far more suitable particularly in regard to transport availability (buses) and sporting amenities

The site is far too small with no sports facilities or space for parking in the area.

Ridiculous proposal! Just does not make any sense at all.

Far too big for the area.

Why locate a new secondary school a mere 1.2 miles or 4 minutes walk away from Overton Grange Secondary School. Surely the need is far greater in the Rose Hill Area of he Borough.

Completely against given the size of the site and the proposed size of the school.

Asides everything that has already been said, it would also be a great mistake to build a secondary school in the Sutton Hospital site as the road infrastructure as it currently stands does not support it.

The Sutton Hospital site would appear to be substantially below the minimum size required. The Rosehill site will easily accommodate the proposed school and leave ample space for existing local amenities to continue.

I am in complete opposition for this site to be used for a large school.

The proposed site is a ridiculous option for a school of this size.

Has anyone from Sutton Council even SEEN the site? And what is proposed for it? This is madness.

I am opposed to the building of a school on the Sutton hospital site for the following : the infra structure is not in place to support a school. There is nowhere for parents to park other than those designated to the residents.The roads round about are very narrow and it is already difficult for buses to pass easily up and down Cotswold road.The site is far too small and the buldings would marr the character of Belmont.

The Sutton hospital site is far too small and would cause a large amount of traffic congestion. Transport links are limited and the impact on the residential area would be significant. There would also be added transport costs for children having to go elsewhere on the Borough when doing games etc.

Please don't ruin this beautiful area and it just seems crazy when there's far to little space anyway !!

Sutton Hospital site would be complete nonsense.

Why can't the Council listen to what their own advisers are telling them? If council tax payers' money is being spent on seeking advice then it should be heeded!

As the Belmont site is obviously too small, with no access to playing fields unless the pupils travel to them, I am bemused as to why it's still under consideration.

It would appear that ANYTHING on the Belmont site is being proposed just to avoid the Rosehill or another site - who does this serve but those on the council trying for votes? Rosehill has good transport links with optional routes to get there / Belmont has access issues already (big reason previously obviously poor proposal for a 600 bed hospital was not built) which will result in more road block at peak times. Rosehill has enough space for a school that's won't be an imposing eyesore AND will have playing fields which still leaves plenty of green space for use by locals for picnics, walking the dog and fetes ,for those bemoaning their loss /Consultants say the Belmont site is 40% TOO SMALL for the school needs without the playiing fields even being considered - and I'm still unsure why an argument of having the school on a life science site is relevant - we are talking about a secondary school not a college or uni specialising in the sciences. I think this about the 3rd try at cramming something too big on the Belmont site - and how many wasted millions has this cost us - a disgraceful and offensive waste of money. There will be no objection to use of the Belmont site for a project that fits the site size so how do these non-starter, non-viable projects keep getting off the ground with such regularity with their OBVIOUS flaws being ignored from the start. I am bored of pointing out the blindingly obvious to the "professionals". Why are we not looking at land nearer the centre of town which has been standing idle for years but has now been sold off for more shops and flats - I think this needs something called Planning skills which so far are not being evidenced.

This is simply not in keeping with the local area and as pointed out by the relevant authorities, the site is too small for purpose. This is another classic example of the complacent Sutton Council, ignoring all sides of the argument that don't suit their agenda. They have no idea when it comes to planning. The proof lies in the disgraceful state of Sutton town centre which, over a period of 25 plus years, they have systematically ripped the heart out of what was once a lovely period town centre with shops that people wanted to use. Now they are about to descend on Belmont and South Sutton, with a view to leaving their mark of devastation and destruction there too. Oh dear!

Its totally senseless to build a school on the old Sutton Hospital site, Firstly, The site is far too small and the proposed plan to build tall buildings to compensate for the shortage of land is short sighted and will destroy the overall picture in the surrounding area. Secondly and more appropriately this would be a ideal & perfect opportunity to build a new hospital that would benefit being close to the Royal Marsden. Thirdly, The current problems being experienced by residents in the Belmont area with regard to the Avenue School parking fiasco & the absolute madness of a number of parents who just don't care where they park and upset the local community. The Rosehill site must be the ideal site to build the new school.
