No school on the unsuitable Sutton Hospital council plot please!

The site is too small for a School as there is little space for children to play and play sport

The roads around this area are far too congested already and the proposed buildings will look totally out of character with the other buildings around them

It is illogical to have yet another secondary school on the outskirts of the borough. The Sutton hospital site is also far too small.

Being a resident of Belmont Heights, we have already had imposed on us the new Super GP Surgery along with the expansion of The Avenue School. Belmont Heights is a residential area and we already have the Overton School as well as the Avenue Primary School. To put another school within throwing distance of our neighbourhood is wrong as we arecongested enough as it is.

Very sad scenario, people of Sutton have been ill advised from the beginning. Sutton council purchased the land without government approval for a new school as well as the associated funding which they were told would not be forthcoming for this site. But hey what is 9million pounds when it is not your own personal money. Common sense says the school position in Rosehill for transportation links and population density is far more logical (and where is the tramlink extension that has been suggested for the last ten years). The roads around the current old hospital site are the narrowest in the area alongside what is the most confusing of turnings from Brighton Road into Cotswold Road and Chiltern road now has three/four cars parked regularly on the single yellow line outside 4 Chiltern road where the council took away a width restrictor and guess what now the busses and vehicular traffic have problems getting around them save for the two hours they are not allowed to park there(please have a wander or drive past and you will see that it is the case) so that's what four cars can achieve and Ruth Dombey bless her believes it can deal with a school of 1800 pupils and the associated transport increase ?. Or could it be that Ruth Dombey does not want the school nearby where she herself lives which I think is Rose Hill. Personally speaking I would welcome the land being taken over /purchased over a period of years by the Marsden and creating the UK,s most fantastic cancer hospital/centre which surely could be achieved by negotiation and would be major coup for the borough to be recognised throughout the country and would bring jobs to the area and yes more traffic yes but consistent throughout the day. So far it has been a local council folly to purchase the land with taxpayers money but trying to put a square peg in a round hole is not correct. The council and the tax payers do need to get their money back and I believe and lease purchase scenario for this land

The Rosehill site has better transport links and the size would allow adjacent playing fields and therefore reduce pupil travelling. A school on this site would not affect the existing facilities for Rosehill residents. In addition, the consultant employed by the council stated that the Rosehill site was more suitable. In addition, the suggested links with with the Institute of Cancer Research appear nonsensical. However, if the Council think such a link would be possible/educational, then surely similar links would be available at Labs in St Helier.

once again Sutton Council show their true colours and it's not GREEN, they have over the past 26 yrs I've live in COTSWOLD ROAD they have ignored every residents opinion on various subjects from the proposed 'Super Hospital' to the Belmont CPZ and recently the expansion of the Royal Marsden Hospital [just take a look at the new application & how would that fit with a 2k pupil school] the local infrastructure could not cope, and at 08:00 hrs Monday to Friday the Brighton Road can not handle the excessive traffic catering for the schools already in this area, Cotswold also can not cope with rush hour traffic the junction with Downs road should be labeled an "accident black spot" but the council still refuse to make this junction SAFE as they do not see any problem with a junction where one road is at 70mph crossing a road with a 30mph limit! it's a death trap add to this 2000 children milling around the bus stops, At the Brighton Rd junction instead of a normal roundabout the council put a nonsensical round-a-bout/island just at the entrance to Sutton General, again bad planning, the junction is bad and if this is the entrance to the school then it would be very dangerous.

Site too small and with the future Cancer Research developments the traffic congestion will be unacceptable.

Totally against any school on the Sutton hospital site.

As stated in the report from the council's own consultants the site is 40% too small, so why the U turn? Having lived on Cotswold Road for over 25 years and witnessed an enormous amount of bad car accidents, at both junctions it's a dangerous road now and totally unsuitable for increased traffic/buses and more importantly hundreds of pupils. Only last Sunday afternoon there was yet another bad accident at the junction of Downs Road and Cotswold Road where one car was written off after ploughing into a brick wall immediately next to the bench where often people sit. The thought of dozens of pupils waiting at the bus stops on a narrow and congested road, is yet another accident waiting to happen. What is wrong with this Council why do they waste so much of our money on obtaining professional advice on where the best site for a secondary school should be built and then completely ignore it, its ludicrous! Rosehill has better transport links, wider roads and green space, even after a school has been built. Also, if the council want to use the 'green' card by priding themselves on being a 'green' council and using this for the reason for the U turn, then what about the impact on the environment? Changing the site to Belmont would mean many more bus/car journeys for the pupils, as most will be travelling from the North of the borough, not just getting to and from school but to go to playing fields as Belmont will not have space for recreational facilities. Finally, with such a small site at Belmont where will the parking facilities be for the staff? Certainly there is not enough space on the adjacent roads, which are already very congested.

I object violently, it is totally unsuitable, but historically Sutton Council take absolutely no notice of their residents views

This site is far too small to support a successful school and the transport links are inadequate. There are far better options for this site.
