The choice of this site defies all logistical sense. That the government's own funding agency considers it unsuitable says everything. That the LIB DEM council has yet again wasted a significant amount of my council tax does not beggar belief because they have a long and not very distinguished record in this respect. That they have wasted in excess of £3m on a blue sky project is scandalous, the result of which is that they have backed themselves into a corner. How they were voted in again at the last local election defies all logic. The general electorate showed more sense in voting in Paul Scully who personally and whose wider party objects vigorously to the Sutton Hospital site as favoured choice. That a nationally elected MP can be potentially overruled by a local self important minority party is anomalous. Rose Hill HAS to be the sensible choice.

I am totally opposed to building the secondary school on the Sutton hospital site as the site is 5 times too small for the requirements of the school, there is no provision for recreational space which is an outcry given the obesity crisis facing the population, the public transport facilities to the area are inadequate to cope and the proposed multi-story buildings are completely out of keeping with the residential area. All this against a backdrop of an available and much more suitable alternative site more appropriately located at Rosehill.

As a liberal democrat I am particularly disappointed at the political based nature of this decision. The arguments given are so intellectually weak it genuinely beggars belief. The use of a conservative ward site rather than more suitable site in the ward of the council leader is simply depressing.

This is completely the wrong site for a school. It is too small, has no playing fields, has poor transport connections and is in completely the wrong side of the borough to meet the need.

Unacceptable site for a school. A science park would be far more appropriate given the proximity of the Royal Marsden and ICR

I understand also that the greater requirement for a school is for children who live in the northern part of Sutton.

The proposed school is not near to the children who need it, which would result in even more traffic through Sutton at peak times.

My two objections are:
No nearby playing fields
Tall building plus no green area for pupils detrimental to positive learning environment also detrimental for neighbourhood and residents.

I feel that a school on the old Sutton Hospital site would ruin the area and imping on the surrounding houses. Traffice would also increase affecting the surrounding residential roads increasing danger to all users.

the site is obviously too small, everyone knows that schools always out grow themselves. This will have no room to expand as time passes. Very shortsited in my opinion.

The only way to fit the buildings on the site is to go upwards, not in keeping with the area. It will bring in to much traffic, where Chiltern Road and Cotswold Road meet is the most stupid of road layouts. The roads around the area will not be able to cope.
The most sensible site if the Rosehill site. Hopefully the council will listen to their constituents and see sense

The old sutton hospital site cannot accomodate a new school. The congestion is already very bad at times on the Brighton road...children on mass crosding this road would be perilous.

Educational attainment is influenced by surroundings. A cramped environment on a small site is unlikely to achieve good educational outcomes.
The surrounding roads are inadequate and already congested.

The Council's original choice of Rosehilll had synergy with the operational and staffing requirements of the Greenshaw Trust who are to operate the new school. Two secondary schools are already situated within 0.5 and 1.5 miles of the proposed site in Belmont. The pollution created by transport to this sparsely populated region of the borough would be counter to the council's green credentials. The site should be re-considered as part of the Sutton Life Sciences Campus building upon the 2nd largest Cancer research facility in the World.
