The Ministry of Transport confirmed today that the installation of rumble strips on corners will cease immediately and existing hazards will be removed. Our document was presented to the department officials who agreed that these markings compromise road grip. I will monitor the upcoming road safety assessments to verify that …

Rumble Strips are designed to make roads safer so drivers are alerted when they are going off their lane or when they need to slow down in a particular zone.

Today, more and more rumble strips are being installed in Malaysia on corners itself opposed having them 500 metres before the apex of the corners. This has resulted in very dangerous driving conditions wherecars and bikes are losing grip exiting the corner and this is being made worse on wet driving condition. The road and the rumble strips have different grip pattern and coupled with the nature of strips being raised significantly, this is a driving hazard.Help us put a stop to this. Petition ends on 31st Aug and marking Merdeka we would submit this petition to the Ministry of Road and Transport. Help us make Malaysian Roads Safer!

I am currently compiling a technical report that highlights the specific grip discrepancies caused by these rumble strips. This documentation will be included in the formal dossier I am preparing for the Ministry of Road and Transport. I have reached out to highway safety engineers to verify the data on why these placements create hazardous conditions during wet weather.

Bike rider for many years in KL/PJ. Loose just front or back tire control... all you can do next is pray for a soft landing...or end up dead. As simple as that.

I as a motorcycle ride had encounter a few dangerous moment with the rough red stripes in the corners. I believe that it should in placed before the turns to signal danger ahead but not in the turns where it will reduce the grip level on the surface of the tires for any motor transport which is more dangerous then to prevent them!

The objective is to alert drivers and bikers before reaching the upcoming corners or dangerous areas, not at the corners or dangerous areas where by doing this will affect the traction especially on wet road conditions both cornering and braking

I have a Kancil and my car literally feels like it's gonna fall apart from these strips, and its just causing unnecessary wear and damage on my suspension. Furthermore, some of these forces me to slow down a lot which could possibly be a hazard to other drivers.

Rumble strip shouldn’t be put on turning corners cause it’s really dangerous especially when the road is wet. Plus, yellow rumble strip would be sufficient enough to alert drivers to slow down instead of using yellow and red strips.

Absolutely agree, those rumble strips are horrible! It makes cars jobs and skips during the corner, losing grip in the process. Simply stupid!
