It seems like someone is looking to get rich off of selling the current property the prison is on, the people in Draper knew it was there when they built their houses it isn't fiscally responsible to rebuilt a whole new prison.

Why remove an eyesore, just to relocate it to another location? Follow the dollar! The state can come to our backyard to buy land cheap, and then sell their high market valued location and make big profits selling the old prison area to buisness and retail.

Chyna I read the reason behind it is because the founder of Eagle Mountain John Walden has a lot of land there and he want to sell it and make lots of money regardless of what we think. He even want to give the prison extra land for free so they can buy it from him. Sadly I heard Senator Mark Madsen is behind this. He was Walden's lawyer and he is in favor of the prison moving here. Strange since he lives in Saratoga Springs and I know him personally. I don't know what to believe any more. Look the page No Prison in Saratoga Springs on Facebook.

Exactly Chad . A lot of rich people want to make money even if they have to walk on people and I hope we can show them they were barking at the wrong tree.

This is a beautiful peaceful city. A lot of families moved here to raise their children in a nice environment and quiet city. There is a conflict of interest and it is not fair that all the parties involved are trying to walk on Eagle Mountain residents. Go built the prison somewhere else and please leave us alone. Thank you!

We don't want the prison here. This is a place with a lot of children and we want to be safe.

Please don't ruin the beautiful Eagle Mountain/Saratoga Spring area by building a prison nearby. There are plenty of other places to build a prison, don't destroy one of the fastest growing locations in Utah County!

Makes no sense to move the prison inside or near any city, particularly some of the fastest growing areas. We'll end up with the same problem they do in Draper right now! Move it out where land is cheap and no city will be adversely impacted. Bus the employees there for free if you have to. Look at where prisons are in other states. For instance Vegas prison is 20-30miles out of city limits.

moving a prison to one of the fastest growing cities is just dumb. why not move it to the middle of absolute no where? that way when they escape u can see them. they need to think of all the kids... this is suburbia.. hello

Why destroy a growing community? I understand this is all about opening up land in Draper and the politics involved. Let my community continue to grow and founda place where someone wants the prison built. My question is, what do those involved gain from this? For Saratoga ands surrounding areas it is a lose/lose situation.

Is doesn't take aot of common sense to see that this will replicate the existing issues that people have with the prison. It wouldn't be hard to imagine a scenario where the same developers who want the land in draper, will want the land in Saratoga in a few years. Just rebuild it where it is and be done with it. As for the existing neighbors who want it gone, well sorry you new the prison was there when you moved in.
