Draper doesn't believe that a prison is good for their family community. It is no better for the families of Saratoga Springs. There are better and more welcoming communities. You need to go there.

As a current Saratoga Springs resident, and specifically in Harvest Hills, I would be compelled to move if the prison was relocated here. My children go to the elementary school just a few miles from the proposed site. there are so many reasons the prison should not be relocated here. There is a lot of land outside of Utah and salt lake county available if moving it is even necessary.

Moving the prison to Saratoga Springs or Eagle Mountain will only provide a temporary solution to the same problems they are experiencing in Draper. We need to find a more permanent solution

The fact that anyone would consider the relocation of the prison to the site across from Harvest Hills in Saratoga Springs is absoutely crazy!! It would be within a mile of two elementary schools, and within two miles of eight other schools. There are five churches and several parks near the proposed site as well as hundreds of homes. Imagine how horrifying it will be to all those children (and parents) when the alarm is raised that a prisoner has escaped, or is trying to--now, I honestly don't know how often a prisoner would escape, but the thought of it happening even once is horrible enough not to choose that site!!! There are too many children and families nearby. Traffic will increase, the lights of the prison will fill the night sky, and poperty values will drop considerably!!! I am opposed to the proposed site in Eagle Mountain as well for these same reasons. Saratoga Springs and Eagle Mountain are growing so fast right now. They are both lovely communities. Why scar them with a prison? Most of the families out here have small children. I recently purchased a home out here because it is a beautiful, happy area (I live in Eagle Mountain on the border of Saratoga Springs). I never would have even considering moving out here if I knew there was a prison nearby--and if it ever comes here, not many people will consider it either. It's abolutely absurd!! Why not build the prison in a remote area away from children and families? There is plenty of land in Utah for that. I understand that the people who are trying to decide where to place the prison are concerned about the prison workers and families of the inmates having to travel so far to get to work or to visit. I don't mean to come across as unfeeling, but having them commute farther doesn't seem that horrible. How far are they commuting right now anyway? I can't imagine all the workers and families of inmates live right by the prison now anyway. I mean, seriously, what percentage of them do? If the prison were

Please reconsider other locations and take Saratoga Springs off the list of possible sites.

I feel this would be a huge misuse of tax payers money to move the prison. The only reason they want to move it is for money but the effects of this desision will cost so much more than what will be gained.

We do not want a prison any where near where we live. Save those areas for future growth.

There is a saying that "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it", and that is what will happen in this situation. If the prison is built in SS/EM area, in several years the site will just have to be moved again for the same reasons they are moving from the Draper site. Combine that with the fact that this is a heavily residential area and there are not any compelling reasons to choose SS/EM as a good relocation site.

I do not think they should build it where there is so many young families. When our family first moved to Utah in the 1970's we did move to Draper but there was not as many people there back then. My feeling is they should move it in a area that there has not been any growth or where they do not think there would be a growth.
