The NDA and Magnox Ltd are investigating nuclear storage for higher level waste for all of Southern and Central Scotland, incuding the waste from Chapelcross, Torness and Hunterston A and B.
This is in line with Scottish Government policy of near-site near-surface storage of nuclear waste
Hunterston is being included in the study, despite past assurances that the store at Hunterston would only be used for waste generated on the site.

The NDA and Magnox Ltd are ignoring their original promises while they try to turn Hunterston into a regional dumping ground for toxic waste. Their arrogance is exactly why we must keep pushing because they clearly think we will just sit back and let this happen.

Keep our coast clean. We dont want the rest of the countrys toxic mess dumped on us here in Hunterston. Not fair to the local people.
Ridiculous idea. Move it somewhere else far away from any towns or water sources. dont dump it here.
They promised us it was just for the local stuff. Lies again! absolutely unacceptable.
my kids play near here. this is dangerous and reckless. stop it now.
Are they crazy? This area is already struggling enough without turning it into a dump for the whole of scotland. NO.
