Putting the clinic in Monument seems like a poor decision both for the community as well as for patients of the clinic. It is not accessible except by car, across the street from a major community park, and close to schools. It makes no sense that this clinic has gotten so far down the path to opening.

It is inconceivable that this clinic is even being considered in such close proximity to both a school and a park. PLEASE think of the safety of our children!! They are counting on US to provide a safe school and play environment for them. NO methadone clinic in Monument!

This would had a very negative impact on our wonderful community. We have a very close, caring community with a safe small town feel, which is why a lot of people move to and live in the Monument area. As a local Realtor here I am also concerned about how negatively this will effect all of our property values. We have a wonderful town that has worked hard to have a fabulous reputation for families and children.
This is not the place for this facility.

As a retired law enforcement officer, I know the issues associated with these types of facilities - they do nothing positive for the environment in which they are established. Which begs the question why anyone, whose responsibility is to keep the the best interests of its community at the top of its list, would even consider allowing for a facility which flies in the face of the existing peaceful environment.

I'm not against drug rehabilitation, I just don't feel that putting it across the street from where my children play is the answer.

My family has lived in Monument for 15 years. We moved from California in 2000 and chose Monument for its great schools, low crime rate and tight-knit community. Allowing a methadone clinic to operate in downtown Monument will forever change the safe, family friendly community we currently call home.

I think there are other places for this clinic that will meet the needs of the clients that are not located near a popular park and a school. From everything I've read, I am not in favor of this location for this type of clinic and ask the owners to look elsewhere.

This location does not seem like the best spot for this type of clinic. We encourage you to seek other locations.

Does anyone know the position of Lewis Palmer School District concerning traffic risks to our kids? I have heard nothing from our school district.
This article documents a situation in MN closely approximating a Monument clinic close to roads & kids.
10/05/2012 - ATIN- For-profit methadone clinic operator Colonial Management Group has been slammed hard by Minnesota authorities as state officials there have pulled its Duluth clinic license in the wake of numerous regulatory transgressions.
Complicating matters now, no doubt, is the news that a woman driving after getting her dose at a separately-owned Brainerd, MN, clinic killed two highway workers.

Given your track record elsewhere you should go focus on correctly running the clinics you have. When you have that figured out and need to open more you should make sure you are not opening them next to a neighborhood and a park. Pick someplace appropriate like a shopping center or industrial area.

DO NOT approve this Meth Clinic in Monument. This is not the proper location for such a business. Unintended negative consequences will far outweigh any potential financial benefit to the community.

I can't comprehend why the Mayor and whoever else approved this clinic (our elected officials who are supposed to act in our best interest) did not think at all about protecting our children and families. I also don't understand the lack of compassion of the owners who would think about compromising children's lives. I guess it is all about money?? If the clinic Needs to be in Monument, how about placing it in the old Vitamin Cottage building. It is located right across from the police station. It has a drive through window already. If that building costs more let the mayor and whoever passed this empty their pockets for the difference.

This is totally against the character of monument and is opposed by the community. The elected officials responsible will hear from the public about this on the next election if it goes through.

This clinic is too close to a public park.
