I live within a stone's throw of the potential methadone clinic. I can see the building from my windows and front door. I DO NOT want a methadone clinic so close to where I live! I would be concerned for my safety and the security of my vehicle and property, not to mention to safety of the families and residents that frequent Limbach Park. This is NO PLACE for a methadone clinic!

I definitely like your idea of by a hospital, but PLEASE make sure to add a hospital "OUTSIDE of monument" because my home is close to a healthcare facility in monument. it is the fact that it attracts negatives for the area it is in; which needs to stay in a metropolitan city like springs or denver that already has crime and is prepared for such happenings.

We moved here to retire, in part due to the absence of such influence. We will move on again, if our well chosen community starts to decline.

I lived in NYC for a decade and had to pass a methadone clinic every day. I would be forced to cross to the other side of the street in order to fit on the sidewalk and avoid groups of patients smoking and hanging around outside the clinic before and after their treatment and also to avoid the drug dealers hitting them up on the sidewalk and stairs right next to the facility. The Monument clinic would have its doors FACING a park where children play and would expose them to the same predicaments...children for goodness sake...and a church around the corner...this is NOT the area for such a clinic--it needs to be in a metropolitan city like the Springs or Denver, but not our rural community. Methadone is a drug. Another drug to take them off of a drug they have already chosen to take. They are on drugs in and out. Theft has been proven to increase in homes that are close by. Ask Vermont. Ask other states/cities. Monument has had one crime in a very long time. We need to keep it that way--free of crime and a safe place to grow our families.

This facility does not serve the residents of our community, nor does it promote the healthy, wholesome lifestyle that has prompted our residents to move here in the first place. Do not allow this to take place, it will destroy everything we hold precious in our community.

Our little hamlet off the highway cannot accommodate the influx of people needing their treatment. It does not make sense for people getting rides all the way to Monument from points north and south. Thanks
