I think drug addicts do need a lot of help but not in such a small area of a small community that has no housing or public transportation to make regular dosing possible. I don't know much about this but think there has to be a better place for the clinic.

let the meth addicts go somewhere else to get treatment..... What are you thinking to bring them to Monument..... Though the intent may be good, it will bring down our community

I think, if you were to read quite a few of these comments, that most people signing this petition ARE NOT against the work of using methadone to help addicted people. Even a few more go on to contribute, as this petition states, that a methadone center would better be placed in another location for numerous reasons. We all are very wide awake and see that a center such as this, without a doubt, attracts people that POTENTIALLY cause havoc in what is a quiet town without them. They, other petitioners, are also concerned about the security of their property, peaceful livelihoods and utmost, their families, not so much about "KEEPING PEOPLE DOWN". I would hope, like a decent and civilized human being, that if your child were forced to walk amongst former and rehabilitating drug addicts, that you would also try anything in your power to protect them from a toxic and degrading environment. Overall, this has nothing to do about "YOU PEOPLE" "KNOW[ing] NOTHING ABOUT THE MEDICATION", it has everything to do about bringing awareness that this helpful drug brings the unfortunate crowd of sick, unstable clients to a clean and healthy community.

I feel a rehab facility such as this would deter from the strong family values Monument's community upholds. Please consider the negative impact this would bring to our neighborhood.

I moved from COS not far from a treatment/rehab center. I praise the work done there but I did not move here to see the same drug addled clients in this new beautiful town.

You people are idiots. Why wouldn't you help people from getting off heroin? Methadone has been used for 50 years to help people. All you can think about is keeping people down because you know nothing about the medication. If one of you gets robbed because someone need there fix because they have no money don't come crying to anyone. Wake the hell up.

I understand that there is a need for methadone treatment centers, however, Monument isn't the right place for the clinic. Downtown Colorado Springs may be a more appropriate place.

This is a very poor location for a methadone treatment facility. Unbelievable to think it will open within a stone's-throw from the community park and several schools...ridiculous and not representative of what the people in this town want.

No Methadone simply because CMG's track record of not operating within the boundaries of the existing laws in Colorado as well as several other states. This is black and white. If our government can't enforce the laws they pass then they also should be removed from that office they are trusted with.

This clinic is better suited to Colorado Springs where it can be located on a City bus line and they can have access to other public services. Drive by the soup kitchen downtown Colo. Spgs and you will see many folks sleeping in their barely running vehicles. Do we want the same for Monument? Are there that many opiate addicted persons in the tri-lakes area? I would like to see some of the stats they used to justify setting up shop in Monument.

Mayor and council need to explain why this clinic will benefit the town. Why not provide the service where the clients live. Why do you want them driving our small town streets to get their opioid.

If this clinic is allowed to open it will negatively change the face of Monument forever. This is a family community built on small town values. Placing the clinic across the street from a family park in the heart of downtown is ludicrous...what agenda does the city council and mayor really have allowing this to go so far? Recall them all!

Two final thoughts:
No, this location definitely will *NOT* attract at least 2 Douglas County residents. Monument will, very soon, be a lost cause. That is clear to see. The current El Paso County residents were not even paying attention.
Based on the spam emails we are now receiving, it seems everyone *EXCEPT* the lawyers, will be donating their time and talent to this "effort," aka lost cause.
