No methodone clinic in Monument! There are other clinics available. Any new clinic should be placed in an open space far away from the community and children where visitors and the other people this will attract can be more visible and easier to track, without close proximity to neighborhoods and children. Pick another place, there are way better options that don't risk the communities safety!

There must be a better location for this clinic than historic old town Monument. We need more bars and restaurants in the heart of our family friendly community.

No need. Colorado Springs and Denver have plenty of clinics.

I don't think its fair to the residence and the people visiting the park to put in a methadone clinic in downtown Monument. Right now kids can walk downtown and play in the park without fear . I do not want to damage the small town feel we have in Monument.

We still need many more signatures. I think we have to file an appeal with Monument Board of Adjusters as well, which Jamie Fenley is working on. If anyone knows an attorney that could assist let us know ASAP Please also contact the Town of Monument Board of Trustee members and let them know your feelings.
Right now there has been no business application filed for the clinic.

As a registered nurse who has worked for over a decade with recovering addicts, I have seen first hand the environment that surrounds methadone clinics. Junkies waiting outside to pay a methadone client to sell their doses. How perfect to set this up across from a community park! Now Limbach can be the next tent city! Well done!

Right across the street from the park my son plays at......this is a joke right? Stupidity at its finest!

Putting something like this right in the downtown is a poor decision. The general public will avoid the area and the retailers and restaurants will suffer.
Downtown Colorado Springs suffers from the same poor decision making putting a homeless shelter (Marion House) right at the entrance to the city. Don't make the same mistake in Monument.

I have no problem having a methadone clinic in the area, but not across the street from the main park!

I do not want this next to the park where I take my son to play, There are to many churches, preschools and town events by this park and this is not the type of place that should be in that area.

If you do some research it appears that there is probably not any way to stop this - there are several Federal Laws that supersede NIMBY concerns, regalrdless. This is an interesting article FYI: http://www.josre.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/9830-63_92.pdf

I have been in Monument a lot of my life and now that I have kids of my own who happen to love this park and our little downtown... this is the LAST thing our town needs. This is NOT a location for this type of facility. Please reconsider allowing this in our family town.
