No MEGA CHURCH on Mount Oak and Church Road in Bowie

I am completely against this mega church. Seems like a boondoggle to me.

It is important to preserve the unique characteristics of our city. A mega church at this location would be contrary to this idea. In fact, it would detract from the picturesque, suburban, quiet, green and natural qualities that define this particular location. The existing community churches at this same location (Mt Oak and Judah Temple) are wonderful assets, not overbearing, and are sufficient for our needs. A mega church at this location would be ostentatious. It would diminish our small town atmosphere, which was the characteristic that attracted us to it in the first place. The people of Bowie are the highest tax payers in this county and deserve to decide this matter. NO MEGA CHURCH OF ANY TYPE AT MT OAK AND CHURCH ROAD OR ANYWHERE IN BOWIE. I am the HOA President for the Woods of Woodmore community. Located at Woodmore Rd and Westbrook Lane. Right before Church Rod traveling eastbound on Woodmore Rd.

The community did not ask for this- Period. A mega church will not benefit this community. And God doesn't need 19 acres. Have multiple services at your existing location or (and I know this is controversial) work with another one of the thousands of churches in the county to expand offerings to parishioners. NO MEGA CHURCH on CHURCH RD.

I oppose building a mega church at Mt. Oak and Church Roads. Our elected officials are approving too many projects. There’s nothing wrong with undeveloped open spaces with trees. Concrete jungles aren’t wanted here. Please don’t imitate what is happening in D.C.

Our neighborhood and Church Road in general absolutely cannot handle this sort of traffic. The infrastructure was never designed to handle for this development.

Definitive no! With new town homes going up across from Vista Gardens center at Rts 450/704 and plans for Duvall Center up the street where Half Note is, its too much on our area!

Let’s keep the small town feeling in Bowie. A mega church would bring heavier weekend traffic to an area that was never visioned to become a small metropolis.

There's already too much traffic for a mostly 2 lane Church Rd at Fairwood. It will be impossible to turn in or out of Fairwood with that kind of traffic. Definitely no.

Disagree. Residential housing/apartments will overcrowd the city

Resident of Fairwood who has lived right off Church Rd. for the past decade chiming in. Church Rd. is a small, one-lane, low-speed, no-passing feeder road through residential areas. It ALREADY has substantial traffic issues (i.e. requires frequent targeted speeding enforcement by the county and often has multiple accidents per month at the few small intersections along it). It ALREADY requires traffic cones and multiple police officers to control traffic every Sunday just for the few small churches currently along and in proximity to that poor little feeble road. The creation of a megachurch with 750 more parking spots will dwarf the existing traffic problems by orders of magnitude. Furthermore, the city of Bowie is already planning on building a brand new ice arena just a few thousand feet down the same road. Re-zoning/re-classifying acres of land to allow for this lunacy is an absurd abdication of city planning.
