Thsee roosters are not abused. They are pets. Do you know how many roosters are killed because of zoning laws not allowing roosters? These roosters have shelter, food, water, and they do get exercise as the employees walk them on harmesses around the store. They are safe from predators and they are not harassed by children or dogs as they are safe inside a coop. Yes, they poop,c which can draw flies but their enclosures are cleaned every evening. The stores' lights are lowered at night so they are not exposed to 24/7. These roosters have a good life and compared to factory farmed chickens these guys are spoiled. Don't kill more roosters by petitioning to remove them from their homes. If rural king has to get rid of their mascots those roosters will be killed.
GOD-willing, very soon the very best and enforceable animal welfare laws and regulations shall become prevalent throughout the world. May GOD-ALMIGHTY save animals from the horrors of human induced abuse, cruelty, torture, neglect, and habitat destruction.
Caging any animal is wrong.
I was shocked as well...so sad and cruel!
I have told everyone how cruel it is that the rooster in store ate there 24/7 no life at all so sad and inhumane

Rachel, this rooster was a pet. The woman didn't want him anymore. You live across the country and have no idea how this store treats it's animals, I do. The rabbit cages are left uncleaned for hours because nobody wants to be bothered,the baby chicks they get they put so many in one tank the ones who are smaller get stomped on and they die, someone actually cleaned the tank and wrapped one up in the newspaper and threw it away, the rooster, the last time I was in there had no tail feathers, and employees said he gets out maybe 10 minutes a day to stretch his legs. So don't tell me he's got a better life. There are many farmers and chickens lovers who would rescue these guys. They deserve a better life than to be in a coop surrounded by flies and their own poop. It's not healthy.
