I think that advisory time should be reserved for special lessons and homework.

I agree with this. The only reason people would need this extra help is if they were struggling/failing.

honestly, I understand the point in IXL and Amplify, but I do not understand the point of doing it in advisory. Usually, there are events and stuff we need to go through on slides, which leaves little time for homework/missing assignments. And a few days a week of Amplify and IXL don't really make it easy to keep up, especially if you have a sport you play or a club after school. If we had to do Amplify or IXL at all, we should do it during ELA and Math. I have actually believed this since the 6th grade but didn't know what to do with my opinion. Now I know precisely what to do. Thank you for your time.

Amplify and IXL are unnecessary, a waste of time, and counterproductive. According to HB 4545, only students who failed the STAAR tests are subjected to the extra practice, not those who passed which are the majority of students in our school. It is simply not fair that every student has to suffer, even though they did well on the STAAR.

Actually, in House Bill 4545, it states "The new statute is effective, as of June 16, 2021, with accelerated instruction practices required during the 2021-2022 school year for all students, based on results from Spring 2021." so this was only mandatory for last year and "HB 4545 establishes new requirements for accelerated instruction for students who do not pass the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®). At a high level, the legislation includes" This states that only people who failed the STARR test last year must do IXL and Amplify
