The school administration keeps ignoring our emails about these useless programs even though the hallways are full of students falling behind. They think they can wait us out but we are not going anywhere.

The school administration can no longer pretend that students are content with this mindless busywork. The momentum behind this petition proves that we are fed up with losing our advisory period to Amplify and IXL trash.

Amplify and IXL are unnecessary, a waste of time, and counterproductive. According to HB 4545, only students who failed the STAAR tests are subjected to the extra practice, not those who passed which are the majority of students in our school. It is simply not fair that every student has to suffer, even though they did well on the STAAR.
why do i have to do ixl and amplify? i need the time in advisory to do homework; I don't get home until 10:00 some days.
It's not fair that we have to do IXL and Amplify if we didn't fail the STAAR and don't need the accelerated learning stuff. I have homework to do in advisory and if I don't finish it then, then I have a ton of homework to do at home.
I really hate wasting my time on ixl. I play in the band and we have homework and can work on it in advisory but I can't go to the band hall because of ixl and amplify. so I'm in a time crunch on the weekend.
Yea but it makes no sense because it was for kids who failed they are basically saying the whole state of texas failed
I'm not in 8th grade anymore but I still remember the pain and oppression I suffered through at the hands of IXL. I pledge my life, my bow, and my axe to this victorious struggle against the inhuman invaders that IXL is symbolized by! Down with the tyrants! The voices of the righteous shall not be silenced!

I am getting 6 hours of sleep on my normal schedule! This is not ok RRISD! A crap ton of studies show that kids our age need 9-10 hours of sleep to have a healthy body. You're screwing us over with this policy. I could be getting 8 hrs of sleep if it weren't for this dumb policy. I don't see why so many kids need to do this, even when they have really good grades.
