No increase to staff parking charges - Derriford Hospital

Increasing parking charges is a cynical and unfair tax on hard-working NHS staff. It also hits the lowest paid hardest. Reverse this decision Derriford Hospital!

I don't believe anyone should have to pay to be able to park at their work place. It's an insult to everyone that works here. I pay over £600 a year to come to work and it's going to keep going up with these price in rises. Disgusting!!

I am a nurse and a single mother, I cannot afford to pay to excess parking charges to work in an already underpaid over worked profesdion

Its cheaper to stay at home than keep paying more and more to come to work...increased parking charges, NMC annual fee, not paid for breaks I never have etc.

SHOCKING! This is unbelievable for staff to be expected to be able to pay this amount to park their car in their place of work every day! Unbelievable.

All car parking charges at hospitals are immoral when all they do is line the pockets of private companies whilst charging staff who are there to care for the sick or relatives visiting there loved ones

I struggle to pay now. If I use Salary sacrifice to get the cheaper rate. I get penalised in my pension. No win all roung. The hospital showly never have sold off the parking in the first place.

Definately against a price increase, everything going up except our wages!!!

I understand the need to charge for parking but £2.50 a day is ample. The private car park (gravel pit) is unmarked, has no lighting and the surface is poorly covered and will no doubt also be increased but not improved. I still think the rate should be determined by wages so higher bands help subsidise the lower ones.

At the bottom of a band 3, I will really struggle to pay for parking at work if this increases to a potential extra £20 a month. I already pay £50 a month to park. So to ask for £70 a month without any other benefits and high cost of living and already low staff morale would cripple me.

As we are all car drivers there should be no difference between parking rates at all and also no difference between salary payment and top ups.

I walk most of the time but I have to bring my car on occasion, this seems to be increased unnecessary, I park in meteor and the roads are not even looked after so where does the money go

Not to mention that the people that work for the parking company get to park for free everyday too!

another slap in the face for the staff

£2.50 per day at the moment is too expensive to park in a gravel pit that has hundreds of pot holes, cars that drive around like they're on a race track and no clear lines of where to park so people block each other in! Why would I want to pay £3 per day if the car park I have to use never sees the benefits?!
