Working nearly 100% unsociable hours shifts I have no choice to drive to work I cannot get a bus at 2300 hours when on call. I am living on a single wage and have not had a pay rise for 5 years if I do get 1% then the car parking charges will just swallow that up at £48 a month to park at work.
Taunton hospital workers pay 90 p a day! Why are we not treated in the same way?!

It is wholly inappropriate to increase parking charges by such a large amount - it is also unfair that the same amount is to be applied across all of the workforce.

I cannot believe that 'top up cards' cost more to facilitate than other methods of paying. An additional 50p per day?? I believe this is another way to make staff subsidise the Trust. PHNT staff have been through one of the busiest, stressful years that I have known, going above and beyond the call of duty to support the Trust and give the best possible care to their patients. This has been achieved with countless unpaid man hours that has probably saved the Trust millions in salary costs. This is a terrible kick in the teeth for an already exhausted, demoralised workforce. To initiate this consultation when staff are facing unprecedented attendances in ED, working flat out to treat a very sick patient cohort and battling the chronic bed space shortage every single day is nothing short of callous.

The barriers rarely work, the entry cards corrupt regularly, it's already a rip off - no increase in the cost of coming to work!

This is nothing but extortion. We have no option but to pay these prices as many of us work such unsociable shift patterns that public transport is not an option. This underpins the perception that this Trust really does not care about its workforce.

Staff are underpaid as it is, and this increase should not even be considered. Staff should not even be expected to pay to park at work.

No pay rise but expected to pay more for parking ... How are you supposed to use the bus when you finish at 2am in the morning ! Disgraceful !

Once again, staff asked to pay a hidden tax, while the rich and corporations pay less. All in it together?
