The board actually listened and scrapped the downzoning plan entirely because they finally realized what this would have done to our property values. I am honestly still in shock that this worked out after all the stress of the last few months. Keep your eyes open for future zoning meetings …

We, the voters, taxpayers & property owners of Stafford County urge the Stafford Board of Supervisors to VOTE NO on the proposal to downzone A-1 rural land in Stafford County. Downzoning:

  • lowers rural property values by as much as 50%
  • restricts use of private land & private property rights
  • leads to tax increases for all Stafford residents & business owners

We urge you to consider alternatives to manage county growth, protect our property rights & prevent major tax increases!

We are getting so near to that next big milestone and I can practically feel the supervisors starting to sweat because they know we are watching their every move. If we can just squeeze out a few more signatures before the meeting it would really show them that we are not going to sit quietly while they mess with our property rights.

Purchased existing home in 2001 with plans to build a one level home when needed, real close now. 16 acres, A1 will not allow us to build our retirement home on land we love. Vote NO.

The board of supervisors need to look at other ways to mitigate growth by developing and sticking to a growth plan that includes road initiatives and infrastructure requirements.

We have a vested interest we have lived here all of our lives and as landowners we would like to be able to subdivide for our family without the restrictions.

I have been a resident of this county all of my life and we have large acreage and need the value of the land to be what it should be so we have money to live on for our remaining years! Please vote no to this and find other ways to make your changes.

This egregious governmental overreach is robbing citizens of Stafford county of their property rights and property value. We can have controlled growth without infringing on the rights of farmers and other larger-tract landowners. We are the ones who stay in this county generation after generation, thus lowering infrastructure costs.
