Please provide our educators with a safe return to classrooms, appropriate access to safe social distancing and sufficient funding to ensure our schools are safe. Thank you.

Now is not the time for cuts to education. More than ever we will see children falling behind academically, socially not to mention the great impact in mental health. Please support education fully. Thank you!

I am writing as a professor at UNM. I'm appalled at how APS has failed to fund safe, healthy schools and failed to invest in the best educational practices for our students right here at home - whether online during this pandemic or face-to-face for years before now. I am siding with my colleagues in APS in calling on you to make responsible budget decisions immediately!

Please make sure to prioritize student and educator health and don't cave under pressure from the "reopen" folks who don't seem to understand the realities of this pandemic.

No cuts to education! Our working conditions and pay and funding are directly related to children's well being!

A lot of families don't have the necessary resources to be able to keep up with the online classes. Especially with New Mexico being a low income state. Many families can't even afford reliable internet or have working computers at home. Not having these resources can really affect and change the outcome of any students life.

Safely and effectively educating our students in the fall will be challenging enough without cutting funding!

I am signing as both a teacher and parent! We miss our schools, but they must be safe, and we must balance the precautions we must have in place with best practices for teaching children.

While I disagree with the temporary online learning piece, current leadership is ill equipped to create an equitable distance learning push. We need investment.

Educators deserve our support. It's been inadequate for years and their commitment to us and the community deserves our commitment to them.

Demand comprehensive anti-racism training and curriculum

Our teachers are essential! Support them

Focus on public health and education! Our families can't bear any more budget cuts on social programs and schools.

I am a family physician - please let our children go back to school - they are not always safe at home. Don’t defund school!

We must have our schools follow the science concerning this pandemic. We New Mexicans must provide the funds for complete education for all K-12, regardless of access to WIFI through this pandemic and finally we must prepare for eventual, quality face to face instruction.
