There is scant oversight and no independent ombudsman dealing with CRT. It has become a nice earner for myriad overpaid managers with vague job titles, while staff on the ground are being replaced by volunteers. The Government needs to investigate CRT while they are still in receipt of taxpayers money.
Fed up of our engine getting bashed because some things in the bottom of the canal, or getting wedged in a lock and having our paintwork damaged because the lock won't open properly, or them being so difficult to open it hurts... fed up
I feel that the latest decision by crt to waste money on a new logo is a poor one, changing the logo will not dredge shallow canals, changing the logo will not cut back reeds etc or repair faulty locks, a new logo is not needed.
I have boated and lived on canals for 19 years and am disgusted at the way they have been neglected since CRT took over despite us boaters being told otherwise. Now more money is being wasted on the new logo and everyone - except boaters - is being encouraged to use the canals! CRT is a disgrace!
There is a continual stream of stoppages going on maintenance spears to be carried out as and when their is a failure preventative maintenance seems to have go out the window Also navigation and boating appear to now be the bottom of the priorities in CRT agenda WE ARE THE ONLY PAYING CUSTOMERS !
Extremely disappointed in management of CRT. treatment of volunteers is appalling. Executives and some staff paid excessive salaries. Unsure what our licence fee pays for, except their Salaries!!!

The CRT execs are drawing big six figure salaries while overseeing a general decline in the waterways. It’s a tragedy. The waterways are beautiful places with fantastic heritage but are just being allowed to decline after all the good work of the 70s and 80s
