We respectfully ask the Cascade School District to delay any decision to sell any School District property in Plain to Lake Wenatchee Fire and Rescue until such time that the Fire District makes clear their intended long term use of this property and the community fully understands the impact of such use on the Plain community.
The momentum behind this is undeniable. It is clear that the community demands transparency before any decisions move forward.

I like so many feel the work and support from and for our fire fighters is critical. We are grateful to have them.
At the same time, I am not in support of this usage of that land regarding its impact to our community. Thanks!

We support the fire department but live fire burning is a health risk and hazard not only to our neighborhood but also the school and environment. We're asking for full disclosure of the intended use of this land and to understand what the other options are.

I appreciate the fire department and have enjoyed having them as neighbors but they already have unused acreage on which to expand. They have not explained why they need an additional five acres and have refused to share their plans with us. The school, the neighborhood and the community deserve to be fully informed before any decision is made.

As a tax payer of this valley
I believe the school district needs to be fully informed of what the fire departments long range plans are for the property
Since the fire department is a public agency they need to be transparent
This decision to Sell the property needs to be postponed until they publically tell what they are planning & the cost associated with it.

I attended one town meeting and was struck by how little the Fire Department could factually tell us about what they were really doing. this is a quiet and beautiful neighborhood that would be forever changed in a negative way .

Our community needs the Fire District. We do not need a big, industrial complex in our neighborhoods. Put such things out in the woods!

We support the LWFD and it's firefighters as well as the local residents who will be affected by this proposed sale. Requesting transparency from our public institutions should not be a controversial position. This petition is only requesting time for the residents of Plain to be fully informed on the potential uses of this land and determine what is best for the whole community. We urge the Cascade School Board to take a wait and see approach in regards to the sale of the land so that the needs of both groups and be addressed to make the best decision possible for the people of Plain.

This isn’t about not supporting our local fire dept, we all respect and are grateful for them and what they do. This is about finding an appropriate place for a complex such as what is being proposed. Can we all put ourselves in each others shoes and ask how would I feel if this was in my immediate neighborhood? Is this the best use for that land? Thank you for your consideration.
