Resounding NO! I would hope that our Lamar County leaders, who are here to represent us in ALL matters, will take into consideration just that. This is their opportunity to "work for their people" and "fight for us" and all of the other slogans used to be elected. We understand that they are in position to help expedite "growth" but at what cost to "integrity"? Why a SUPER WALMART of all the things that could be brought in to grow the area? I can not think of one other city close by that has two super centers merely miles apart on the SAME highway. Utterly moronic and shallow to purposefully put other business under at this cost and knowingly compound the traffic issues/accidents. Of course the developer who lives ELSEWHERE could care less about "one more red light" and the unbelievable careless drivers trying to beat the light to turn into Walmart (which happens daily at the one right down the street) Of course he wants to cash in on his investment....But at our expense sadly.

I encourage each of the Lamar County supervisors, and all members of the Planning Commission to stop this action before it goes any further. If you want to help the citizens of Lamar County, and you want our county to continue to prosper, this would be detrimental to our future. Of course the city of Hattiesburg wants this to go forward as they will benefit tremendously via increased tax revenues paid to the city. Please do not allow this type of business to further occupy our beautiful county. Thank you in advance for your consideration .
