i disagree with the proposed rate rises. We live in Belford, we don't get our road maintained by Council, they won't even look at it.

I don't agree with the rate increase. Especially when council will not change our lane from unmaintained to maintained and they choose to ignore health risks ww have raised for our children about renaming all or part of our lane - starvation lane

How is the normal low and medium income earner suppose to afford this incredibly large increase every year for the next 4 years! Not everyone in this town works in the mines and has the large pay checkes that they do ... my house may be not be big and fancy and we dont drive the latest big 4WD or fancy car but we work hard for what we have ... with this rise it means we are going to have to work harder for longer and struggle more!

I can't afford this. I'm struggling already . If this goes ahead my house will have to be sold. Moving on is my only option. Sad of it happens.

It's reduculour a considering the cut backs in the mining industry. It will force many people to put their houses on the market and move from the town.

This increase is an unacceptable amount towards rate payers. I suggest you go back to the drawing board with this one; And whilst you are at it fix Burdekin Park we pay rates so that our council acts on behalf of its residents please stop with the garbage that this is a federal issue and strp up to resolve this issue.

This rate increase will kill this town , some people struggle to pay the amount now, all it will do is force people to leave singleton which will effect this town , we already have so many houses with for sale signs up and leaving town from loss of jobs , which has already affected the small businesses in town what do you think it would do to business if people were to leave because it is just to expensive to live here , why increase the rate this high by making it hard for people to pay the rates , what is the money actually being used for ? To improve what ? Will we see where this money be spent? this i find hard to understand when you will have less people here due to this , we have things in this town that are not maintained eg lake sinclair for instance , how is this increase going to be justified, we all know each year there will be a increase but this is just to much , we may be mining town but there are alot that dont work for the mines and for them this would really break them. Fully against this rate increase .

Putting more pressure on family budgets in an insecure employment environment, not fair. Enough is enough give us a break for once. Rates are too high as is.

Maybe instead of wasting money on stupid projects that only make things worse. U should look at saving it for these so called future projects

The rate increase will mean I need to find an extra $800 a year. You have got to be kidding!! We aren't all on the big salarys.

Our rates are high enough now and Singleton is an expensive town to live in, I have had family move away from here as it's cheaper to live elsewhere
