We the undersigned citizens of Chattanooga, TN respectfully request our elected City Council officials to ensure enforcement of CODE OF ORDINANCES , CITY OF CHATTANOOGA,TN, specifically:

Chapter 24 Motor Vehicles and Traffic

Article XII.- Vehicle Equipment

Sec. 24-438. Mufflers and approved engine compression braking devices; definitions; noise test and signage.

Chapter 25 Offenses and Miscellaneous Provisions

Article III.-Noises

Sec. 25-66-The creation of any unreasonably loud, disturbing or unnecessary noise in the city or noise of such kind, intensity or duration as to be detrimental to the life or health of any individual or disturb the public peace or welfare of the city shall be unlawful.

Sec. 25-67. - Definitions and noise measurement procedures.

Sec. 25-68-(7):Exhausts without mufflers. The discharge into the open air of the exhaust of any steam engine, stationary internal combustion engine or boat engine except through a muffler or other device which will effectively prevent loud or explosive noises therefrom.
