In order to assure parents of their children’s safety when on Northside ISD school campuses, we demand another layer of security at our vulnerable schools for SY 2022-2023. Specifically, we ask for a task force of armed citizens who wish to stand up and protect our children, teachers, and staff. These citizens could be parents, grandparents, or taxpayers, and would be trained heavily by local law enforcement, subjected to intensive background checks, drug testing, and psychological testing in order to meet standards the district would implement for this task force.
We no longer believe Northside can protect our students. Our schools will be safer as a result of applying this program throughout our campuses.
Essential Functions of Members of this Task Force Team:
-Uses whatever force is necessary to prevent or abate an active assailant incident.
-Immediately responds to and engages to stop the threat of an active assailant.
-Conducts perimeter and inner school checks to ensure premises are secure.
-Analyzes information and situations regarding activities that may be in violation of school policies and/or an indication of possible criminal activity for the purpose of determining immediate actions and/or making recommendations to ensure safety of students, staff, and the public.
-Collaborates with other school and district personnel, assigned police officer, representatives of local agencies, etc. for the purpose of preliminary inquiries into violations of school board policies and providing information and/or taking action, etc. for the safety and security of school site.
-Communicates school policies and procedures, personnel and visitors for the purpose of ensuring their understanding of the potential consequences of violation.
-Informs personnel, parents and/or visitors of school policies and procedures for the purpose of providing necessary information in compliance with policies and guidelines. Investigates unusual incidents (e.g. unauthorized visitors, violent threats against students, etc.) for the purpose of assisting responding law enforcement personnel, developing information necessary to assist in determining appropriate action, and/or providing documentation for future reference.
-Monitors students within a variety of school environments (e.g. rest rooms, grounds, hallways, library, cafeteria, parking lots, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and welfare of students.
-Prepares a variety of documents (security logs, memos, letters, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
-Recommends policies, procedures and/or actions to school administration for the purpose of providing information and/or direction that ensures efficient provision of campus security.
-Refers observation and incidents (e.g. injuries, altercations, suspicious activities, inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel and/or law enforcement for follow-up action.
-Utilizes and monitors surveillance technology.
Our children deserve more. Our teachers deserve more. Kids deserve to feel safe in an environment where our teachers can get back to their jobs and have peace of mind.

The momentum behind this push proves that Northside ISD can no longer ignore the families who demand better protection. We have forced them to acknowledge that their current safety plans are failing our kids. Keep the pressure on this district until they finally stop dragging their feet.

Every other secure building in this city has armed guards. Why are schools any different? Its time to wake up and stop leaving our kids vulnerable.
Protect our schools. Cowards only pick places where children are not defended.
Northeast independent school district is still in it and is really successful

Vigilance and veracity.
Protect the children like you protect your school board meetings!
The NSISD Board of trustees have proven they are not protecting our children.
