This petition is being created to show interest and support for individuals interested in having the ability to legally ride a Personal Watercraft (PWC) at night in the state of Kentucky. Currently this is a legal practice in 9 other states when you outfit the PWC with the proper lighting arrangement as used on similar pleasure boats like your average fishing or pontoon boat. As with any powersport activity you always encounter risks, with the proper lighting, night pwc operations pose no extra danger compared to a small vessel on the same waters such as a fishing boat. Lighting should be left up to the end user as long as they are installed in the proper locations and correctly viewable from all angles.
