Why, you ask? Well, there are many factors. First, the NFL hasn't expanded since 2002, which is the longest time period without expansion since the 50's. Also, San Antonio is the seventh-largest city in the US, and the second-biggest city in the state of Texas. The two teams currently in the state of Texas, the Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Texans, had a combined 10-22 record last season. Dallas hasn't made the playoffs the last four years. That makes many football fans in Texas anxious for another team to root for, after much disappointment. Lastly, San Antonio already has an NFL-suitable stadium, the Alamodome. It has around 65,000 seats and only hosts one major football game a year: the Alamo Bowl. Already having an NFL-ready stadium would reduce the startup cost by at least $700 Million dollars, probably more.
As you can see, San Antonio is ready for an NFL franchise. By signing this petition, you request that San Antonio mayor, Julian Castro, Texas governor, Rick Perry, and NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, look deeper into an NFL franchise in San Antonio.

San Antonio deserves and needs the nfl
Time to get off the Cowboys and Texans Bandwagon. San Antonio is a sports city inside a state that thrives in Football. This city supports their San Antonio Spurs, as the AT&T Center always brings in a crowd of fans. San Antonio does not need to fill the gold lined pockets of Dallas or Houston. They do well to support themselves. Keep the money and the fan base in a city that produces winners in other sports. Who wants to travel the 4 to 5 hours to another city to call that “Your home team”, When San Antonio can offer so much more to it’s fans right here.. The only reason that The Cowboys and The Texans owners don’t want to see San Antonio in the NFL equation is that they are afraid of the in state competition that a San Antonio team would create. Quit buying into the reasons why San Antonio can’t have a team, when the reasons to have an NFL team is so much more and better.
We want an NFL team the city deserves it. I am not a fan of the Cowboys or Texans .
