Next Generation Ed is an organization that advocates for the formerly incarcerated youth of our nation. However, in light of recent events we've made it our business to make our collective voice heard regarding the senseless shootings of African American men around this country.
While Facebook statuses, Tweets, Instagram likes and posts are great, we need you, an elected official and the government formed to protect us to take action and require a third party special investigator and prosecutor to investigate and prosecute cases when police kill unarmed people.
We as a people have lost trust in those sworn to protect and serve. Internal processes created to investigate police crimes have proven ineffective in finding the truth and prosecuting the police. We want change and won't rest until change has been realized!

I have spent this entire week reading through your comments and each story serves as a painful reminder of why we must keep pushing for an independent prosecutor. The current internal processes are clearly failing us and we deserve a system that actually delivers justice.

The momentum building behind this effort proves that people are tired of a system that refuses to hold itself accountable. Watching these numbers climb reminds me of my own search for justice and keeps me fighting for the future our youth deserve.

An entire generation of young black and Latino men are being wiped out, and why?
Police officers who shoot innocent citizens should be prosecuted , held accountable . No one is above the law.
We need something done or we WILL resructure their function in our communties and our lives.
WE LOVE OUR BLACK PEOPLE ITS TIME THAT WE TAKE A POSITIVE STAND ANGANIST BAD POLICE OFFICERS!!!!!
It's time for those responsible to be held accountable.
To shoot an unarmed person is the height of cowardice.

Good Luck this issue affects everyone, just the other day a policeman shot and killed a Navajo women who was caught shop lifting. There is no justice in killing anyone of any race for committing a non-violent crime or for just being at the wrong place at the wrong time. The police are killing men, women and children alike and they need to be stopped. A badge doesn't give you the right to take a life, that badge is supposed to be a symbol of protection for all people.
