I am honestly stunned to share that Shropdoc will be staying in Newtown permanently. You achieved this because you refused to let the needs of our community be ignored. I am so proud of what you managed to pull off.

Calling for shropdoc to be permanently based in Newtown.
It is not right that the people of Newtown have only limited cover from the service out of hours Newtownians have to travel to Welshpool to see the doctor in the evenings, weekends or bank holidays.
Elderly people, parents with sick children or anyone who feels unwell find it hard to travel long distances for treatment. With the problems that Newtown has with the traffic it is not always easy to travel to Welshpool.
What about people without cars and on low incomes, with the ever increasing fuel prices - what happens to our carbon footprint?
The minor injury unit in Newtown does an excellant job during the day however parking is a major problem and is not open 24 hours. We are the largest town in Powys we deserve 24hr cover in Newtown.

NEEDS TO BE OPEN HERE! Tired of the run around when you feel like death.
The traffic in this town is bad enough without adding 40 mile round trips to the mix. Sort it out.
I dont drive so getting to Welshpool is impossible without calling in favors or paying for expensive taxis. Local people are being left behind.
Absolute joke that the biggest town in Powys doesnt have proper access to a doctor out of hours. My grandmother had to wait hours for a taxi to take her to Welshpool last month.
Ridiculous that we have to drive to Welshpool when we are sick. Just had to do it with a feverish toddler and it was a nightmare. Newtown is big enough to have its own cover.

I have had to take my family and others to shropdock including small babies at three and four am. My daughter was so ill she could barely walk. She had mastitis, she didn't even know where she was. Nearly forty mile round trip for seriously ill people. Multiply that by the many families in Newtown and the surrounding area and it becomes obvious why we need a permanent out of hours in Newtown
