Woolwell doctors surgery's ability to provide its patients with access to an appointment is not fit for purpose; There are no weekend appointments, you cannot book for the day and cannot book for an evening (unless its "An Emergency" - surely if its An Emergency then you go to Derriford?!)
Evening appointments are available at other surgeries in Plymouth and across the UK, Weekend appointments are run twice monthy by Roborough surgery, and at other surgeries one can book in the morning for the afternoon. Roborough also lets patients download an app so they can book an appointment for any time of the day, and can do so online.
Its all well-and-good saying "Register at a different doctors surgery" but not everyone can drive...any why should we have to? Surely a local surgery should meet the needs of their community.
I petition the Woolwell Doctor's surgery to;
1) Provide some Weekend appointment availability, even if it is only once per month.
2) Allow people to book in the morning for an appointment in the afternoon or evening.
3) Have evening appointments that people can book that aren't for "Emergencies Only".

11 years ago, when I moved to Woolwell, I lasted 6 weeks with Woolwell surgery for this very reason.
Appointments are not easy to get and waiting 2 weeks when you are sick is not acceptable.
I agree with all the suggestions for improved accessibity for appointments at Woolwell surgery.

Hardly ever go as it's a nightmare trying to get through to get an appointment usually call lisson grove. Daughter ended up in hospital very poorly as no appointments and diagnosed over the phone incorrectly 4 hours after calling!
