We need your help to inform the shire of our need for a new purpose built Skate Park for our community.
OUR VISION:
- Build a purpose built, professionally designed skate park suitable for all ages, being bike, skateboard and scooter friendly
- Including an all ages adventure playground
- Provide a family space with seating and shade all centrally located to attract visitors passing through Newdegate.
We believe this could be a very exciting opportunity for the entire Newdegate community, for not only providing a wonderful facility for our children and their families, but to also put Newdegate on the map as a rest-stop destination for travellers passing through.
We want to gauge initial community support.

I have been hearing so many stories from families who are tired of driving hours just to find a safe place for their kids to ride. It confirms everything I felt when I started this because our town deserves a space where our children can actually be active together instead of stuck at home.

Seeing this level of support reminds me why I started this for my own kids who have nowhere to ride in town. It is truly humbling to realize how many of our neighbors want the same bright future for our families.

This would be great for the locals and for when I visit my grandies in Newdegate. Shade, seating and a tap are also important. The idea of having it where travellers could also use it is a great idea. I regularly drive down there and it is nice to have somewhere other than a gravel parking bay to take a break.
A family friendly area in the Main Street would not only draw in travellers for local businesses, but is a very much needed addition to the community to keep kids away from these busy roads and provide entertainment for ages ranging right up to high school (even boarders need something to do and somewhere to catch up with friends when they are home). A great initiative!!
A wonderful visionary project that integrates with the town plan and will benefit families, youth, businesses and the community.

We have been asking for the use of the mobile skate ramps for at least 8yrs now and i haven't seen them in Newdegate yet. Theres a pad out the back of dunks coffee shop built for this purpose, what a waste of money!. We have asked for a bbq at the current park but the Shire refused because theres on at the gazebo. Theres no swings here, no fence either this is why we asked for one at the park. Also the grass at the current park would have been great 5 yrs ago but again falling on deaf ears. So it would be wonderful to see a family space where all ages can go and enjoy their weekends or evenings. Cant wait to see it built!!!
