For more than 30 years, we have been trying to build a skateboard park in Down Beach so our children can have a safe place to learn, practice, and grow. This area is changing, with more out-of-town visitors making it their permanent home, and our community needs a place that brings young people together in a healthy way.

A local skateboard park would give children a space to stay active, build confidence, and learn responsibility. Skateboard parks help create community among kids and teach life lessons through sport and shared space. Skaters often take real pride in keeping their park clean and safe, and that sense of ownership can be a powerful force for good in the neighborhood.

We have a serious need for a skateboard park in Down Beach, one that can be maintained and cleaned by its founder and volunteers. This is about more than a place to ride.
