- There are plenty of young people in the Edwalton/Gamston area, and a lot of them own bikes, scooters, and skateboards. Frequently you'll see them riding around, but where can they sprout a fun mode of transportation into a hobby, a talent? The Clifton skatepark and Lady Bay skatepark are the two closest to the area but both at 2.2 miles away but for the majority of kids this is a nuisance to reach because of route complexity and distance. The community would be positively effected by the inclusion of a skatepark, and it is without any doubt we can promise it would be cherished and used for years to come. Please give our request consideration, and understand that there seems to be an empty space amidst our community, and how deeply we would appreciate our shared dream of having a local skatepark become true. I have finalized the formal proposal document outlining the site requirements for a local skate facility. This draft is being submitted to the parish council this week to initiate a review of potential land usage near Gamston. Further updates will follow once the council provides a timeline for their next committee meeting.

The scale of support reached today allows me to formally request a meeting with the local council planning department. I am now drafting the proposal document that details current site availability and projected usage for the facility.

This facility can only be a positive contribution for the young people within the area
The nearest skate parks are Clifton & Lady Bay. I’m sure with all the children/teenagers locally this would be well used-especially with the new housing in Edwalton. This would be an asset to our community.
Would be nice to have a skate park Alford road park is big enough to build one.
My son and his friends would definitely use it.
My two kids would love this.
